The felony is 25 years old, for theft.

It really depends upon the employer. For example the FDIC is by law not able to hire anyone with a felony conviction. It would be difficult if not impossible to get any kind of clearance to work for a defense contractor like Lockheed or Northrop. With some employers its more discretionary or a matter of company policy. I would say your chances would be better in the private sector but above all be honest about it. If the employer finds out on their own without your disclosure it will seem as though you were hiding it and they won't be happy about it.

They never let you live it down after a felony conviction.

That's a very good question, unfortunately, I don't have the answer, but I'm starring you in hopes that someone else knows. Very good question! Since mostly everything today is computer generated..and all of our information is just floating around out there.

Really do not know but they may stop the person. the person should be honest about it because they may check into it

25 years is a long time. If you have led a spotless legal life since then, do you not suppose that any who would prevent you from a job would not be someone you would want to work for? There may be legal reasons such as having government contracts for preventing any felony convictions from working. Such things cannot be helped. Otherwise it should not be a blockage. Be sure to be open and honest with the prospective employer. One thing that will crash and burn any employment is for them to have to discover something about your past.

In this economy I think a felony would prevent you from doing any job except the felony you committed!
