Are there any computer repair shops in Raleigh that will fix my laptop cheap and quick?
I broke the LCD screen on my laptop by closing it with an ink pen on the keyboard. Best Buy's Geek Squad wanted $450 and they have to send it off for two to three weeks. Staples has the same service for $550. Does anyone know a reputable company that is local, does the work here, and won't try to rip me off?

I am having computer problems and would like to use a community of computer technicians than use Yahoo all of the time. What site Forum do you recommend?Also for the sake of yahoo points...My friend brought her computer to me as the computer repair shop said they couldn't fix her computer. They're so lazy as to not repair and backup a dying Hard Drive and say they can't repair it and to buy a new pc from them. I assumed it was another friend with an HDD problem, but it wasn't. What happens is that I will plug in the computer and without touching the power it boots straight up and gives no audio or video. The power button doesn't light up and won't respond when you push it in to turn the computer off. The CD drives open though. Without it giving video, how can I tell what the problem is, I am not sure if it is just a bad switch or a bad power supply.

If computer repair shot technician damages a machine does he or the company have to pay for replacements?
A shop caused some very minor scratching to a machine I brought in but the nature of the location of the scratch means that replacement of an entire VERY expensive section of the machine will need to be replaced with it.They've agreed I will incur no costs for this replacement and all in all it works out very well for me as other bits of my machine will be replaced like new that wouldn't otherwise have been my only concern is that the technician himself apologised to me and the conversation implied that he personally would have to pay for the replacement. If I knew for sure that he would have to do so and given how little guys like that tend to get paid then I'd rather just live with the little scratch than be so mean but otherwise, since I paid the company for repair work and the machine came back scratched, I want the replacements to go ahead. I would assume anyway that the company is insured for situations just like these.Does anyone know who has to absorb the cost in situations like these?Elite I know already that I can get the repairs done at zero cost to myself, they've told me already and admitted fault. I just don't want to go ahead with making them order the replacement parts if the technician who made the mistake has to pay the cost rather than the company. It seems too mean
