Hi yeahyeahyeah,
You can use Tweak UI to restrict the drives, it’s very easy to manage.
To download the TweakUI 1.33 update from the Microsoft Web site, click the following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
But if you wanna restrict drives by category, such as restrict all USB drives or restrict all CD-ROM drives for your Windows 2003 or XP, Mico$oft has a way to do it, check the following url,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555324/en-us
If you know how to do it, it’s easier than TweakUI to manage your restricted drives.
If you still don’t how to do, just let me know, I can explain into details.
Good Luck!

I’m not sure off the top of my head about the registry. Maybe this link will help: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=327976
If you’re using XP Pro, I know you can use the local policy editor to restrict drives. Just type gpedit.msc into Start => Run to open it.
